Miserere.

Zucchero.

Co-written with Bono, the recording of ‘Miserere’ was another great moment for me. Imagine the lineup: Zucchero: vocals, The London Session Orchestra arranged and conducted by Michael Kamen, Corrado Rustici: Slide Dobro guitar, PJV: Hammond B3 and…Pavarotti: Vocals!!!!

Listen for the Hammond at the beginning of the track growling away followed by a huge orchestra then enter Pavarotti. Just amazing.

Although it was hard for Corrado to get the optimum performance from both artists, (as they sang together) the finished mix is full of zest and spontaneity. I love the disparate elements in this track, overdriven Hammond, slide dobro and beautiful sinuous orchestra. Pavarotti (after much cajoling) awesome.
