The track came as a ‘work in progress’ from the producer and I wrote a string arrangement that, in the introduction, sounds rubato (no strict time) then I take the tempo from the second half of the chorus. I tried to invoke one of my all time favourite arrangers, Nelson Riddle, when I wrote the soaring unisons and altered substitutions that I think support a beautiful vocal from Mick. It was great to hear him in this new setting.
