This is from a time when my favourite ‘weapons of choice’ were an Emulator 2 and a Korg MonoPoly (which is what I’m playing for this lead line in the intro of ‘Right beside you’. I loved how all the pressure in this song is in the verse and the chorus actually ‘chills out’. Much against prevailing pop edicts and all the better for it!
