Another curiosity. I had been doing the keyboards on the album in New York. Somewhere around halfway through proceedings (about the fourth week in) we took a break. I went to LA and to all intents and purposes disappeared (this is pre mobile phones). Not knowing how to get in touch with me, they contacted everybody in Scotland whose surname was Vettese and recorded every call!! Listen carefully to the beginning of ‘Inside Information’ and in the intro preamble you will hear a Scottish voice on the telephone asking “who is it?”, that’s my brother David!! But he didn’t know where I was either and it was only through some stroke of luck Jethro Tull’s tour accountant (long story) found me and I returned to NY to finish the overdubs. Mad.
