Let’s Sing And Dance For Comic Relief.

I was commissioned to write and produce the theme music for this year’s BBC four part COMIC RELIEF Series ‘LET’S SING AND DANCE’. The director and producer of the show wanted a more ‘funky’ and contemporary theme song and I was only too happy to oblige. One of the trickiest aspects was to come up with a good ‘elevator’ sound at the very top of the show. I had a great time working with the production team (who were very ‘on the ball’) and not only did I write the theme but I produced tracks for Catherine Tate (in her acerbic ‘Gran’ character) singing ‘I Need a Hero’, ‘The Wizard of OZ Medley’ for The Chasers (who won the series) and the finale of the show ‘I’ve Had The Time of My Life’.  The ‘Wizard of OZ’ Medley was particularly tough to recreate  because of the beautiful yet indistinct recording from the original but I think I pulled it off!
